Cooking Labs will attract turists to Osa’s gastronomy

A new gastronomic experimentation project is being developed in the Osa peninsula, where 20 small entrepreneurs are using local ingredients, recipes and products to attract more tourists with their spoon and good seasoning.

This is part of the Cooking Labs initiative, carried out by Imagine XYZ in the framework of Alcanzando Escala, a program promoted by the Costa Rica United States Foundation for Cooperation (CRUSA), the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF/IDB) and the Government of Costa Rica, in the framework of its project Tejiendo Desarrollo, to support the national strategy for Rural Economic Development (DET).
Cooking Labs are workshops where chefs, producers and chefs from the area experiment with local flavors and recipes to elaborate an innovative gastronomic offer with the objective of developing a local menu for the Osa peninsula, which will increase the number of visits to the Zone, through the culinary innovation.

The elaborate dishes will be displayed at a culinary fair next June and will be used by 20 entrepreneurs of the Caminos de Osa project for sale to tourists visiting the peninsula.
